Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Skilled Nursing Care Specialist in Birmingham. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a community or hospital setting and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for administering skilled nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This will involve performing tasks such as making initial evaluations, reevaluating patient needs, initiating plans of care, and providing services that require specialized nursing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make initial evaluations and regularly reevaluate patient needs to ensure timely interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Perform procedures and provide services that require substantial specialized nursing skills, including preventive and rehabilitative care.
  • Document all patient interactions and interventions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Counsel patients and their families/significant others on meeting nursing and related needs.
  • Determine the amount and type of nursing needed by each individual patient.
  • Refer patients requiring specialized skills to other healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and teach other nursing personnel as needed.
  • Participate in quality assurance and peer review activities as assigned.
  • Take on-call duty nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

What You'll Need:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Relevant experience working in a community or hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working indoors in Agency offices and patient homes, traveling to/from patient homes as necessary. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are not required but may be advantageous.

Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum
