Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to join our Engineering Team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
- Complete service and inspection records, defect reports, and associated paperwork to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass.
- Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, ensuring the correct and effective use of tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform other duties as deemed reasonable by management.
Requirements
- Fully skilled with applicable licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license).
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
- Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driving license and previous experience in a similar role.
