Job Description

Fowler Welch, a leading provider of time-critical logistics solutions, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Motivate a Team: Oversee a team of warehouse operatives, shift supervisors, and team leaders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and site functions.
  • Performance and Financial Management: Analyze and provide feedback on daily, weekly, and monthly reports relating to performance and finance, with a focus on maintaining and improving performance levels.
  • Health and Safety and Compliance: Manage and maintain Health and Safety and Compliance within the warehouse and site, ensuring adherence to British Retail Consortium (BRC) Standards and accreditation.
  • Site Management: Oversee the management of all site facilities, buildings, and yard, including the management of site facility and maintenance contractor requirements.
  • Audit and Compliance: Undertake regular audits to ensure warehouse and site adherence to BRC, Food Safety, Health and Safety standards and requirements.
  • SLAs and KPIs: Ensure that Warehouse SLAs and KPIs are met, and costs are controlled.
  • Coaching and Guidance: Deliver effective coaching and guidance to new and existing site colleagues on Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and Compliance policies and standards.
  • Training and Development: Brief and coach site teams on updated or new ways of working, standards, how to guides, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and SHEQ alerts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and review compliance key performance indicators and suggest improvements and efficiencies to better meet business and legal requirements.
  • Document Control: Manage all site compliance document control requirements, corrective and preventative actions, and trend analysis.
Requirements:
  • Extensive Management Experience: Proven experience in a warehouse/site function within an FMCG environment.
  • Leadership and Coaching: A passion for teamwork, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literate, including WMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
