About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Care Services Manager to join our team in Torquay. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to young people in our residential homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive care plans that cater to each young person's unique needs, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health requirements.
  • Build and maintain a strong team by collaborating with recruitment teams and completing personal development plans to ensure a consistent and familiar care environment for our residents.
  • Foster consultation with young people to develop systems that enable them to share their thoughts on the care they receive.
  • Assign Key Workers to each young person to implement their individualized care plans.
  • Maintain high-quality care standards in accordance with our quality standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Address any complaints or child protection concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of our young people.
  • Participate in care planning and review meetings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at the time of application, with a commitment to enrolling on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
  • An understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Effective spoken and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioral, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behavior.
  • A full UK driving license.
