About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Cornwall. As a key member of our community rehabilitation service, you will play a vital role in promoting healthier and happier lifestyles among people with severe mental illness and their carers.

Job Overview

As the Lifestyle Peer Support Worker, you will work alongside a Lifestyle support worker and directly with the therapy team to proactively engage with clients to offer a wide range of activities that aim to improve quality of life.

Your duties will include establishing supportive relationships with service users, sharing your own narratives to raise aspirations, working with the Therapy team to develop activities, supporting the development of Community Mental Health Services, and participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings.

Requirements
  • Lived experience of mental health illness
  • Transferable life experience to apply to this role
  • Completion of your own wellness plan
  • Understanding of a strengths-based approach
  • Commitment to equal opportunity and understanding of discrimination
  • Good educational background (GCSE English and Maths equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £23,000 per year, plus excellent benefits including a rewards platform, wellbeing support, flexible working, contributory pension scheme, and structured induction program.
