About the Role

The BBC is seeking a skilled Software Tester to join its Partnerships team. As a Tester, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing testing within the team, ensuring the highest quality of new features and projects.

Main Responsibilities

As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing new features and assessing their quality
  • Writing test plans and working with software engineers to understand and refine test coverage
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of automation test suites
  • Participating in fostering a learning culture throughout the organization

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent domain testing skills with a proven background in working with various broadcast systems
  • Experience in testing MHEG/HbbTV interactive TV applications and their development, test, and release
  • Knowledge of the TV device development and production lifecycle and its impact on manufacturers, platforms, and content providers
  • Proven experience in initiating and maintaining effective communication with external organizations across the TV domain
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and ways of working
  • Practical experience with source control tools, such as GitHub or SVN
  • Experience in working and influencing agile processes across disciplines
  • Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and innovate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
