Visiting Project Manager - Construction

CDM Recruitment is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Visiting Project Manager to join our client, a leading main contractor specialising in cut and carve, new build, and fit-out projects across the UK.

The Visiting Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing 3-4 live construction projects nationally, with overnight stays to be expected while ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard, on time, and within budget.

Key Highlights:

  • Specialises in retail fit-out
  • Manage 3-4 projects nationally, with values ranging from £50k to £1 million
  • Working with Blue Chip retail clients
  • Regular travel during the week with over night stop overs

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress, quality, and health and safety compliance
  • Ensure that all Project Manager duties are fulfilled to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Communicate regularly with Blue Chip clients, attend project meetings, and provide clear project updates
  • Resolve any on-site issues and make key decisions to keep projects on track

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years' experience as a Project Manager in construction, working with a main contractor
  • Strong experience in managing fit-out projects
  • Solid knowledge of UK building regulations, materials, and construction methods
  • SMSTS qualification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • A full UK Driving license due to the extent of weekly travel
