About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Assistant to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a Tax Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the tax function and working closely with senior team members to prepare tax assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of tax returns for a varied and growing client portfolio.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Be the go-to contact for clients and third parties, proactively handling queries and solving problems.
  • Liaising with clients to obtain information, ensuring accurate data is received.
  • Preparation of client correspondence, via email and mail.
  • Owning responsibility of maintaining client records, updating information as required.
  • Preparation of assignments for senior management sign off.
  • Supporting the wider firm with other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • ACA, ACCA, CA or CTA qualified or a finalist.
  • Previous tax experience within practice.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering service excellence.
  • A natural people person, able to build trusted and respected relationships.
  • Sound IT skills and knowledge.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • A self-starter who can also work collaboratively with the wider Tax team.
  • Articulate, motivated and punctual.
