Job Summary:

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at HMP Holme House. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the electrical systems within the prison are functioning properly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Respond to electrical breakdowns, ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work.
  • Actively fault-finding and problem-solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
  • Undertake electrical installation activities in accordance with design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Test and inspect electrical installations in accordance with current IEE wiring regulations.
  • Monitor and order critical spares for all electrical services.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate technical qualifications, such as City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, or NVQ level 3 or above.
  • Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at work Regulations.
  • Ability to work at heights.
