Ontic, a leading provider of Extended Life Solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at our Staverton site in Gloucestershire.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to build and strip a variety of simple and complex mechanical hydraulic units, utilizing their knowledge of hydraulic systems to conduct efficient inspections and fault-finding investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and inspect various mechanical instruments using complex diagnostic tests and methodologies.
  • Effectively interpret and utilize assembly and engineering drawing/specifications.
  • Ensure that all assembly, test functions are completed to the necessary quality standards, meeting contractual customer expectations and conformance to enable progression to final inspection and release.
  • Adhere to legislation governing employment, including health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities, quality assurance, and statutory and local policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience working in a similar role, ideally within Aviation/Aerospace.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with hydraulic/mechanical components.
  • Proficiency with measurement equipment, such as Verniers and Micrometers.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and prioritization skills.
