BAM Nuttall is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer to join our team in Godstone, Surrey.

Your Mission

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing data, processing, and reporting with precision and timeliness.
  • Overseeing the hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs of monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting in the installation and operation of monitoring equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and timely completion of construction programs.
  • Assisting in the analysis and interpretation of monitoring data for risk management during construction and validation of design assumptions.
  • Ensuring baseline readings are taken in advance of construction activity, as specified in Designers and Contractors Monitoring Plans.
  • Assisting the Instrumentation and Monitoring Manager on all I&M related engineering issues.
  • Assisting with the planning and procurement of instruments/sensors.
  • Installing geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring readings.
  • Conducting Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Planning.Requirements

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • A degree in geotechnical/geological engineering or a similar discipline.
    • Relevant work experience is not essential, but demonstrable experience in geotechnical/civil engineering and/or geotechnical or structural monitoring would be advantageous.
    • Some degree of IT systems awareness to operate I&M specific software, SharePoint, and bespoke reporting applications.
    • A full driving license valid in the UK.

    The successful candidate will also possess:

    • The ability to assist in project planning and identify engineering and quality risks.
    • The ability to interpret specifications, data, and drawings correctly and check for errors.
    • The ability to contribute to ensuring policies, processes, and procedures support compliance.
    • A professional, dynamic, and motivated individual with the ability to work alone and as part of a team.
