Job Description
  • We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Linux System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating project work, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
  • The role involves designing and maintaining complex networks, using VLANS, inter-site connectivity, and routing. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and correcting problems with datacentre server hardware.

Our company is based in Central / Greater London, and we support a flexible approach to working hours. While some out-of-hours work may be required, this can be claimed as overtime. A full and valid driving license is beneficial but not essential.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior System Administration role in Linux environments.
  • Strong Windows Server administration skillset, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Print Services, Filesharing, DNS/DHCP, RAS, and IIS.
  • Linux Server Administration skills, including deployment, file system management, Samba, CIFS, performance monitoring, package management, process management, automation, bash scripting, DNS, DHCP, and securely configuring SSH.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring systems, ideally Zabbix.
  • Designing and maintaining moderate to complex networks, use of VLANS, inter-site connectivity, and routing.
  • Previous experience in 1st/2nd line client-facing support roles.
  • Voice over IP technologies, including Asterisk/FreePBX, SIP, and IAX trunks.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration and associated services.
  • Aligning IT processes with ISO 9001, 27035, or 27031 standards.
  • PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
  • Azure Active Directory Domain Services, Azure Storage, and Networking.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
