About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of world-class products that meet business targets while creating a fun, high-performing, and motivated project team.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from concept to completion, and will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of world-class products that meet business targets
  • Create a fun, high-performing, and motivated project team
  • Design and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Supervise a small team of mechanical design personnel
  • Estimate project staffing needs and schedule and assign work
  • Prepare work plans and review and approve mechanical investigations and studies
Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification(s) in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or extensive practical experience
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor fellow Design staff
  • Strong 3D modelling skills with exposure to FEA
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Design of machinery and/or materials handling equipment
  • Exposure to R&D, pointing to successful design of next-generation products
  • Demonstrated ability to design for manufacture
  • Sound understanding of engineering principles
