Senior Data and Insights Manager - Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data and Insights Manager to join our Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation (M4H) programme. As a key member of our Research and Policy team, you will lead cutting-edge research across the programme, focusing on data and overseeing the team's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-quality research studies across various themes, methodologies, and markets, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Develop a specific research and engagement strand on responsible data in digital humanitarian action.
  • Manage external consultants and/or other M4H team members to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  • Support the M4H Research and Policy Director in developing a clear research and learning agenda and timescale for insight deliverables and dissemination.
  • Disseminate research and learnings through written reports, case studies, blogs, powerpoints, conferences, and meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the MEL function within M4H, ensuring the programme's impact is measured and evaluated effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing complex externally commissioned research projects, either client or agency side.
  • Track record of using various research methodologies suited to humanitarian contexts.
  • Experience and familiarity with the telecommunications and humanitarian sectors, with specific expertise on the responsible and innovative use of data.
  • First-rate project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues in plain language.
  • Fluent and compelling written and oral communication skills, particularly in English.
