Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our medical team at Ayrshire Hospice. As a Medical Director, you will contribute to the development of community and in-patient services, working organization-wide to drive forward multidisciplinary working with internal and external professionals. The postholder will support care in patients' own homes using face-to-face and virtual systems, focusing on continuous improvement in patient care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels within the Ayrshire Hospice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist palliative care advice to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals in patients' own homes or other homely settings.
  • Supporting care of patients in a community hospital setting.
  • Supporting complex discussions regarding medical care and future care needs.
  • Working directly with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care within the hospice inpatient unit.
  • Supporting quality improvement across all hospice settings.
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
