About Our Property Litigation Team

At Weightmans, our Property Litigation team is a strong, fast-growing, national practice operating out of four offices: Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester. We act for public and private sector landlords, tenants, and real estate developers, with a diverse client base including local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, social landlords, blue chip retailers, and owner-managed businesses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of mixed property litigation work, predominantly defendant housing disrepair cases.
  • Caseload may include commercial cases such as estate management work, possession actions, business lease renewals, injunctions, and residential cases like possessions, rent recovery, and disrepair for housing association and other residential landlords.
  • Assist other case handlers with their caseloads and support more junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development and profile-raising initiatives, including networking events.
  • Complete MI procedures as required and achieve set targets/KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures, as well as adherence to Weightmans' values.

About You

  • Have knowledge of property litigation work and a flexible approach.
  • Be motivated, highly-driven, and possess excellent IT, typing, communication, time management, and organization skills.
  • Have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work to strict deadlines and targets.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
