Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering Trainer

Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment to apprentices in a designated vocational area, ensuring they meet the requirements of the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans to meet the needs of apprentices.
  • Undertake quality assurance and collaborate with other College staff to ensure compliance with approved standards and validating/moderating bodies.
  • Maintain a safe and organized teaching environment, adhering to statutory aspects such as safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of induction programs for students and coordinate course performance monitoring.
  • Promote and support English and Maths provision, both in-class and one-to-one.
  • Ensure teaching resources are maintained and ordered as necessary, and maintain all teaching and practical assessment areas to a high standard.
  • Work with colleagues to develop courses, training methods, and materials, and participate in relevant College meetings, groups, and committees.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and maintenance engineering, excellent teaching and assessment skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
