Job Title: Senior SEO Lead

The Telegraph is seeking a highly skilled Senior SEO Lead to join its Audience team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading on key organic growth strategies, working closely with the editorial staff to ensure high-quality content ranks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project manage evergreen content strategies, planning, briefing, and optimising content for multiple desks.
  • Manage and improve a small team of evergreen SEOs, actively seeking to improve their skills to achieve personal and business objectives.
  • Analyse content performance across core evergreen categories, continually optimising performance.
  • Setup and manage monthly reports for senior team members.
  • Help create, improve, and maintain evergreen SEO guides and training materials for writers and the SEO team.
  • Work closely with the editorial team, providing SEO advice, training sessions, options, and optimisations.
  • Collaborate with the technical SEO team to create product improvements from a technical perspective.
  • Stay up-to-date with the world of SEO, attending events, and staying ahead of the search engine ecosystem.

Requirements:

  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A thorough understanding of Google, Google Discover, and how SEO works.
  • Experience managing SEO content projects from cradle to grave.
  • Prior experience working in an editorial setting.
  • An analytical and data-driven approach to surfacing content opportunities, trending topics, delivering actionable insights, and identifying opportunities.
  • An ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Experience delivering strategic presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience using multiple industry-leading tools (GSC, ahrefs, SemRush, etc.).
  • Numerate and fluent in aggregating and analysing core campaign performance metrics.
