Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced LGV Mechanic to join our team at Marlborough Highways. As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles and plant, ensuring they are in good working order to support our projects across Essex and London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake scheduled and ad-hoc repair, servicing, and maintenance of all heavy and light commercial vehicles across our five depots.
  • Workshop-based, with time spent on-site carrying out routine maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Work within a small team to ensure repairs are dealt with promptly and recorded accurately within our in-house electronic system.
  • Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards.
  • Prepare and present vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Attend breakdowns and rectify defects.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and H&S requirements are met.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
Requirements
  • Hold a qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance (desirable).
  • Experience in a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance environment.
  • Strong technical background and ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively.
  • Previous working experience as a HGV Mechanic.
  • Full UK driving license essential.
  • HGV license preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in plant mechanics (desirable).
