Senior Health Care Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our registered healthcare professionals in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to our patients.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Health Care Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a range of personal care for patients, including assistance with hygiene, toileting, and the use of continence aids.
- Supporting patients with moving and handling, using mobility aids, and maintaining correct patient positioning.
- Assisting patients with their dietary needs and providing information and guidance to patients, relatives, and visitors.
- Working as part of a designated clinical and care team to deliver care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
- Developing positive relationships with patients, families, and carers, and respecting patients' privacy, dignity, and beliefs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Effective level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Proven ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and help others.
- Demonstrable ability to follow instructions and be flexible in your approach.
- Effective understanding of confidentiality and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
