Senior Staff Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Hematology and Oncology team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).

About the Role

  • Manage patient care in accordance with agreed policies and protocols, taking appropriate action and seeking advice from other members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary.
  • Lead a team of nurses and provide guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Participate in recruitment and staff development reviews, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop and implement service development initiatives, ensuring they meet standards and targets.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Current NMC registration
  • SACT trained and has current UKONS competency
  • Appropriate post-registration experience in nursing and hematology/oncology
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead a team and make decisions under pressure.
