About the Role

Cover People UK is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher for a full-time, long-term position at a mainstream secondary school in Wigan. This role provides the opportunity to inspire and equip students with essential skills in Computer Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, following the National Curriculum.
  • Teach fundamental topics, including programming, data structures, algorithms, and cyber security, in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with staff and contribute to the success of the Computer Science department.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in programming, computational thinking, and IT fundamentals.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
