Your new role at Hays Construction and Property

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a thorough understanding of project briefs and designing and specifying all Electrical Building Services systems. This includes power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection. You will also carry out and manage the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools, represent the organization at meetings with clients and contractors, and conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works. Additionally, you will be responsible for report and technical note writing, adhering to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  1. A degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes.
  4. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
