Job Summary:
NHS Scotland is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Full-time Specialty Doctor General Adult Psychiatrist to join the South Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team based at Ailsa Hospital. The successful applicant will join a team of 4.0 General Adult Consultants working flexibly in South Ayrshire, covering in-patient and community clinical work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health issues
- Work collaboratively with the General Adult Consultants to ensure equitable distribution of cases
- Support service development and special interest opportunities
- Meet the requirements of the Specialty Doctor Contract and the post is offered on a 10 programmed activity basis
Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice
- Section 22 approval under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 or ability to be applied for
- Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience in Psychiatry
- A full driving licence is essential
About the Role:
The post involves travel between inpatient and community bases. The successful applicant will be part of a well-established, Community Mental Health Team supported by a 24-hour Crisis Service and daily duty service. The role is well-supported, within a friendly and dynamic team, and offers opportunities for service development and special interest.
