Assistant Bid Manager / Estimator

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Bid Manager / Estimator to join their team. As a key member of the construction team, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting bids for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the construction process and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to identify new business opportunities and develop bid strategies.
  • Prepare and submit detailed estimates and bid documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above, including Maths and English.
  • Proficiency in CAD software packages, including Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
