Job Title: General Practitioner, Military Medical Examiner

Pertemps Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our team as a Military Medical Examiner. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for conducting medical assessments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for new recruits to the Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, including reviewing primary care notes and optician reports, to determine the candidate's fitness for the role.
  • Perform face-to-face medicals, discussing the candidate's history and conducting a thorough head-to-toe examination to assess their condition.
  • Discuss any conditions found with a senior Naval clinician, who will take a decision on the final outcome.
  • Communicate the outcome to the candidate.
Requirements:
  • Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) / Post CCT
  • Full Registration with the GMC and record of Continuous Professional Development
  • Full participation in the appraisal and revalidation as required by the GMC
  • Good organisational and communication skills
