Job Title: Marine Equipment Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Equipment Estimator to join our team at Hawboldt. As a key member of our engineering and sales departments, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing solutions for our customers' applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and evaluate customer inquiry specifications and applications
  • Determine the equipment/concept to be quoted with internal stakeholders
  • Perform required calculations, market research, and supply chain investigation
  • Estimate the total cost for the product, liaising with engineering, production, and vendors
  • Create/review internal specifications, sales literature, renderings, and drawings as required
  • Prepare written commercial proposals
  • Enter, organize, and hand off orders resulting from proposal work
  • Assist in organization, composition, and editing of promotional material, including literature
  • Generate ideas for new products or improvements
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience estimating/inside sales in a manufacturing environment, with a mechanical aptitude
  • Proven sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and effectively manage assignments
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Experience with diverse and custom order products
  • Proven ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal communication skills, proven through the ability to lead without authority and motivate others to task
  • Comfortable producing and compiling accurate written communication for customers
  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% of time to customer sites, etc., to provide technical support to the sales team
