Highways Superintendent

About the Role:

This is a management position requiring the employee to supervise and coordinate activities of Asphalt Paving Superintendent and crew members engaged in spreading, rolling, tamping, and patching asphalt or similar material to form surfaces of highways, streets, parking lots, aircraft landing strips, and driveways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate ongoing training of Foremen and crew members to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties efficiently.
• Calculate resources necessary to achieve production targets, taking into account vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from the work site, and productivity of drivers.
• Recommend measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of related asphalt and paving experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Proficiency in database software and ability to type accurately.
