Job Title: Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Imperial Recruitment Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the engineering department and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and guide the site's engineering resource to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and safety on site, and implement initiatives to achieve these goals.
  • Develop and maintain the site's 5-Why and root cause analysis process to ensure that issues are properly identified and addressed.
  • Manage the site's Reliability and Maintenance (R&M) budget and capital expenditure plan to ensure that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Oversee the site's Preventive Maintenance (PPM) system to ensure that it remains up to date and effective.
  • Lead and develop the site's engineering team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken on site is carried out in a safe and compliant manner, and that all necessary permits and documentation are in place.
  • Manage and supervise contractors on site to ensure that they are working safely and effectively.
  • Issue permits to work to contractors and site staff for high-risk tasks.
  • Manage the site's Low Voltage (LV) infrastructure and maintenance requirements.
  • Develop and implement a program to manage equipment obsolescence and replacement.
  • Set and uphold company standards during all projects and working within company policies and procedures.
  • Support the training and development of new starters, apprentices, and graduates as required.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and work instructions, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • A multi-skilled background, ideally through an apprenticeship.
  • An HNC in an engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an FMCG environment.
  • An analytical approach to using data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-starting and tenacity.
  • Experience of continuous improvement initiatives, such as 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • A Health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
