Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Hays Education is partnering with a 2-form entry primary school in North Liverpool to appoint a qualified Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil with ASD.

This is a full-time Teaching Assistant role starting in September, involving a mix of class-based support and targeted intervention work with a pupil who has been statemented for severe autism.

The successful candidate will have strong behaviour management skills and experience working as a TA in KS1. They will be responsible for managing the pupil's behaviour, using effective strategies to keep them focused in class, and monitoring progress alongside the SENCo and class teacher.

The appointed TA will also participate in planning activities based on class teachers' planning to ensure they suit the needs of the pupil.

To be considered for this role, you will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Teaching & Learning, with at least 6 months of referenceable experience working in a similar role within the last 2 years.

You will be a motivational individual with a proven record of managing challenging behaviour and encouraging progress in pupils. Successful appointment is dependent upon obtaining an enhanced DBS check.
