About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrification Engineer to join our team at Quintessential Design Services Limited. As a CAE Project Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of Propulsion Systems using CAE processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of Propulsion Systems using CAE processes, including pre and post-processing using various CAE tools.
  • Deliver the durability attribute of Traction Battery Assembly and sub-assemblies in line with requirements.
  • Have a strong technical background and understanding of engineering and mathematical models, using complex data to deliver results as expected.
  • Have an excellent understanding of solid mechanics and the dynamic behavior of structures, as well as good knowledge of durability assessment techniques and fatigue calculation theory.
  • Have a proven track record and experience of Power Unit Durability delivery/method development within an OEM/Tier 1 supplier.
  • Work with design teams to develop and optimize solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints.
  • Support the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality, and robustness of Virtual models.
  • Conduct design analysis and development with utmost quality within an agile framework.
  • Support design, development workstreams within the scope of engineering development projects.
  • Support prototype design freeze activities for customer applications, support customer production/prototype sites, and liaise with their engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years industrial work experience with CAE analysis.
  • Experience of linear static/random response and non-linear solves, ability to generate shell/solid meshes, and apply complex boundary conditions using tools like Hypermesh, Primer, LS Dyna, and Abaqus.
  • Experience in conducting Vibration & Hi-Cycling Fatigue Analysis.
  • Experience in explicit dynamics, gasket sealing, stress, and fatigue analysis (nCode/FEMFAT).
  • Experience and knowledge of optimization techniques (Bead/Shape) using FE optimizers (Tosca).
  • Previous experience of supporting engineering or analytical projects and experience in proposing product modifications to improve design.
  • Working knowledge of CAE methodologies.
