About the Role:

Mercer is seeking a talented Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst to join our team in London. As a key member of our Fixed Income Portfolio Management Team, you will play a critical role in managing discretionary fixed income portfolios for EMEA clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Portfolio Managers in managing discretionary fixed income portfolios, including manager selection, portfolio construction, and ongoing oversight.
  2. Contribute to portfolio construction ideas across the full spectrum of fixed income, including government bonds, corporate credit, currency, and securitised assets.
  3. Help design and implement new investment strategies to meet client needs.
  4. Analyse performance and risk metrics across portfolios and underlying managers.
  5. Maintain, update, and enhance portfolio and risk management processes.
  6. Assist with portfolio performance reporting and support business development initiatives.
  7. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investment managers and clients.

Requirements:

  • Passion for a career in investment and portfolio management.
  • Relevant investment experience, preferably in a manager research role.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a curious and get-involved attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently, and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and interest in developing client/presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the manager research process.
  • Proficiency in eVestment and FactSet.
  • CFA/CAIA/FSAI/FIA qualification or progress towards completion.
