ENT Specialist

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ENT Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to provide a Consultant-led service with the highest standard of care.

The post holder will be responsible for working with colleagues to provide a Consultant-led service with the highest standard of care. They will also offer educational, clinical support and leadership to nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a special interest in paediatrics and will be supported to develop their own specialist interest and to develop services locally for the benefit of the Isle of Wight population.

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate information is made available to staff to measure clinical performance and enable meaningful benchmarks to be established and evaluated within their area of responsibility.

They will also ensure there is a robust process for reviewing the quality of services provided, explaining the causes of success and failure and ensuring the highest standards are maintained.

The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.

They will also be responsible for providing cover as an ENT surgeon and will have a special interest in paediatrics.

The post holder will also be required to provide an out-of-hours on-call service and to teach and train staff in other medical disciplines, nursing and support staff as appropriate.

They will also work with local clinical and operational managers and contribute to the efficient running of services.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and dedicated professional who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

They will also be required to share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management within their supporting professional activities.
