Certain Advantage, a leading automation solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join their After-Sales Team in Suffolk.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers throughout the life of their equipment, ensuring a positive experience post-warranty.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Site-based role supporting customers remotely to diagnose issues and rectify them in a timely manner
  • Provide technical assistance to the after-sales team
  • Support customers with service contracts
  • Undertake necessary work before service visits, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or software tasks
  • Assist in training and growth of service engineers
  • Programme and modify control systems using PLCs, Servo drives, Robots, and other specialized controllers specific to customer requirements
  • Troubleshoot and adjust mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls equipment
  • Fault finding operational assessment of mechanisms both in isolation and in complex performance

Requirements:

  • Relevant vocational training or completion of apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical discipline
  • Qualifications in Engineering and/or 5 years' experience in an electrical or mechanical environment
  • Proven electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical experience within the automation industry/industrial environment
  • 4+ years' experience in programming programmable LPC and human-machine interfaces using software (Siemens, ABB, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Festo, Codesys)
  • Knowledge of setting up Servos, VFDs, Remote I/O, Earth net & Profibus networks
  • Knowledge of 6-axis robot systems preferred
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostics, test, and repair of electronic/electrical and mechanical equipment

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
