Flagship Pioneering is a pioneering company that conceives, creates, and builds companies that invent breakthrough technologies to transform healthcare, agriculture, and sustainability. We are seeking a skilled Scientific Instrumentation Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and monitoring support systems for instrumentation, including vacuum pumps, thermal management, and exhaust. They will also perform periodic maintenance, work with the data management team to establish a tracking system for instrument maintenance, and assist with the execution of calibration routines and instrument operation.

Key qualifications include hands-on experience working with scientific instrumentation, experience with maintenance and safe operation of vacuum instrumentation and lasers, and experience developing standard operation procedures for scientific instruments. A bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field is required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with scanning probe microscopy and/or nanoindentation techniques, experience with experiment automation, and experience with computer programming.
