About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Railway Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Colas Rail UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective maintenance support for our freight vehicles while developing a broad range of engineering skills and competencies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake scheduled maintenance activities in our major depot.
  • Perform both electrical and mechanical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock.
  • Assess and test procedures to ensure rail freight assets and components are performing to required levels.
  • Maintain knowledge to operate safely and effectively in a railway environment.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, practices, and governance.

Person Specification

  • NVQ level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Full UK driving licence.
