Job Description

CMA Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a specialist retail business on a temporary basis with the possibility of permanent employment for the right candidate at the end of the term. The business is looking for an experienced accounts professional to assist with the day-to-day running within a close-knit team of a business that still has a family feel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Transactions: Manage all purchaser transactions, including setting up new suppliers and posting/raising supplier invoices.
  • Financial Control: Maintain financial control, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, interpret, challenge, and analyze variances in the management accounts.
  • Staff Expenses: Manage staff expenses, including processing and reconciling expense reports.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile VAT quarterly, bank, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Accruals and Prepayment Journals: Post accruals and prepayment journals as required.
  • Closing Nominal Ledgers: Close monthly and yearly nominal ledgers.
  • Operational Improvements: Recommend operational improvements and promote strong relationships with the purchasing team and the rest of the business.
  • Intercompany Reports: Deliver intercompany reports as required.
  • Month-End Analysis: Assist in month-end analysis and commentary.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Experience working with business finance teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship Building: Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Qualifications: AAT desirable.
Benefits:
  • Salary: Salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.
  • Free Parking: Free onsite parking.
  • Possibility of Going Permanent: Possibility of going permanent within 4-8 weeks.
  • Office Hours: Office-based role, Monday-Friday, with one day from home offered after probation.
  • Working Hours: 8am-5pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunchbreak.
