About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Hestia Housing Support.

As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health needs, empowering them to manage their health and wellbeing, and maintain their independence.

You will work closely with our service users, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals and aspirations. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, making a lasting impact on their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower service users to manage their health and wellbeing, maintain their independence, and achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Work closely with our subcontractors to achieve the best possible outcomes for our service users.
  • Empower service users to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community.
  • Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks, and other community-based approaches to empowering service users.
  • Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of the service and its users.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Health and Safety within an accommodation-based setting.
  • Basic knowledge of housing management, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain the safety and security of supported housing services.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills and able to produce clear letters and IT skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
