We're on a mission to make the internet a safer place, and we're looking for a talented Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and improving our machine learning models, including LLMs, VLMs, and conventional machine learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical roadmap for our machine learning capabilities
  • Design, implement, and scale machine learning models across image, video, and text
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems for our customers
  • Implement and optimize machine learning pipelines for efficient model training, validation, experimentation, and deployment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI, and apply them to our projects
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Synthesize and interpret information to inform technical strategy and decision-making
  • Mentor and guide other team members to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment

About You

We're looking for someone who shares our passion for making the internet a safer place and wants to have a significant impact at an early-stage startup. As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you'll need to be an effective communicator, capable of leading complex problem-solving initiatives and guiding others through the process. You should have a product-focused mindset and be genuinely curious about addressing current and future customer challenges.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of experience setting and shaping the technical direction for teams using machine learning to solve ambiguous business problems, ideally in a fast-paced tech company
  • Experience as a technical leader, enabling teams to design, prototype, refine, and ship solutions incrementally and iteratively
  • Excellent programming and software design skills, with extensive experience in creating production-ready machine learning pipelines
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning approaches, particularly LLMs, VLMs, and their applications
  • Ability to instill best practices and standards within teams and support teams to reach them to ensure long-lasting and wide-reaching impact
  • Skilled at communicating ideas and comfortable influencing stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment where team achievements are prioritized over individual contributions
