We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives on our shop floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting assembly processes and implementing process optimization strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify areas for process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes, maximize efficiency, and reduce downtime.
  • Specify, source, procure, and commission equipment to satisfy production needs for current and planned new product manufacturing.
  • Evaluate existing and alternative methods of production in terms of workflow, capacity, types of machinery, plant layout, cost, and implement the most appropriate solutions.
  • Work with new product development teams to provide guidance on aspects of design for manufacture (NPI).
  • Responsible for implementing new products to production in terms of production facilities and managing those aspects of the project to meet cost, specification, and time scale requirements.
  • Specify and document machine settings, and provide equipment training to Manufacturing Technicians/Cell Staff where appropriate.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a HNC+ qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent, and have extensive practical experience in an electro-mechanical/mechanical assembly manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing/Production Engineer.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum based on location and experience.
