The ideal candidate for this Branch Manager role will be responsible for leading the overall performance of the depot, ensuring the company meets its goals for compliance, customers, operations, and profit. They will also play an active part in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Supervise the depot's finances and develop a profit-making plan to ensure a safe, compliant, and prosperous depot.
  • Corporate Policy Implementation: Effectively communicate corporate policies, statutory and legal requirements, and company information to the branch level.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure timely sales and cost reporting, and maintain accurate depot systems.
  • Human Resource Management: Manage personnel on site, assess timetables, make recommendations, and anticipate resource availability to optimize crew and vehicle utilization.
  • Employee Development: Handle personnel issues such as recruitment, termination, absence scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development and training in compliance with company policies.
  • Team Engagement: Proactively engage with team members, ensuring everyone is aware of goals, KPIs, corporate and personal objectives, team vision, and values.
  • Customer Support: Serve as the point of contact for customer-related grievances, damages, or issues pertaining to invoice processing.
  • Facility Management: Determine branch facility needs, present ideas, and cost estimates to senior managers.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate storage records and exercise proactive storage space management to meet fulfillment and profit targets.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with operations and sales teams as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience managing branches in the moving industry.
  • Understanding of managing profits and losses.
  • Ability to think strategically, drive sales performance, and solve challenges.
  • Knowledge of fleet management, site, workplace, and vehicle health and safety.
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Maintain an organized and goal-oriented mindset.
