School Estates and Operations Specialist

This role is responsible for maintaining the school's buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and satisfactory working and learning environment.

The successful candidate will work with the wider facilities team to undertake a range of tasks, including:

  • Repairing and maintaining school buildings and mechanical and electrical equipment to a professional standard.
  • Painting and decorating of school premises.
  • Leading and supervising Estates Assistants in the performance of maintenance tasks.
  • Supporting the wider facilities team in the performance of compliance management.
  • Managing subcontractors performing maintenance and installation work on the school's premises.
  • Deputising as necessary for other leadership roles within the Estates Team.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence and be able to work on a rota basis, including Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all paths and external areas are clean, clear of debris and maintained throughout the year.
  • Working with the wider facilities team to ensure that rooms are set-up as required for school and other uses.
  • Performing any porterage tasks.
  • Opening and locking school's facilities as required.

Health and Safety Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all faults or potential hazards are dealt with appropriately.
  • Carrying out all duties in accordance with health and safety legislation and the school's health and safety policy.
  • Helping to ensure that all visitors/contractors wear appropriate security passes when working in school premises or on school grounds.
