Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Data Protection Lawyer to join our team as a Transaction Execution Specialist. This role will play a critical part in supporting the execution of transactions, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across various functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data protection law, experience working with external counsel, and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of internal papers summarising proposed transactions and key risks associated with them for review and approval by the board of Directors;
- Work closely with colleagues from across the business to achieve commercial deal objectives;
- Lead legal due diligence and disclosure workstreams, and support the evaluation of their findings and associated reporting matters;
- Assist in managing and refining the Legal & Compliance function's post-deal integration efforts;
- A qualified lawyer with experience either in-house or at a law firm;
- Degree-level qualification, such as Legal, Privacy or IT/Comms degree with a compliance add-on;
- The capacity to fulfill responsibilities with limited supervision while maintaining effective communication with the Privacy Lawyers' / DPOs and the rest of the privacy team;
- Previous experience and knowledge of data protection laws, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation and other international data protection legislation;
- Digital or Sports Betting & Gaming experience;
- Prior experience or knowledge with the OneTrust data privacy tool.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around £80,000-£120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
