Job Title: Solar Energy Installation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Solar Energy Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems that provide clean, cost-effective energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install Solar Power Systems: Install photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops, ground mounts, or other structures. You will handle everything from mounting panels and wiring to configuring inverters and ensuring proper system setup for optimal power generation.
  2. Conduct Site Assessments and Prepare for Installation: Perform site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar installations, including evaluating roof or ground suitability, measuring system dimensions, and assessing shading or other obstructions. You will ensure the site is prepared for a safe and efficient installation.
  3. Maintain and Troubleshoot Solar Systems: Conduct regular maintenance checks on solar panels, inverters, and wiring to ensure that systems are running efficiently. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues such as shading problems, electrical faults, or damaged equipment.
  4. Monitor System Performance and Optimize Output: Use monitoring tools to assess system performance and track energy production. You will analyze system data to detect underperformance and implement solutions to maximize energy output and efficiency.
  5. Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Follow strict safety protocols and industry standards for solar installations, including NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements. You will ensure that all installations meet regulatory and safety standards to protect both the technician and the client.
  6. Educate Clients on Solar System Operation: Provide clients with guidance on how to use, monitor, and maintain their solar power systems. You will explain energy-saving tips, monitoring methods, and basic troubleshooting to help clients get the most out of their solar investment.
  7. Document Work and Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs performed. You will document system specifications, performance data, and maintenance activities to support warranty claims, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solar Installation and Maintenance Expertise: Strong experience with PV system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You understand the components of solar systems, from panels and inverters to batteries and wiring configurations.
  • Electrical and Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in electrical systems and wiring, with knowledge of the NEC and local electrical codes. You are skilled in using tools and equipment essential for safe and effective solar installations.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair solar system issues. You can assess problems quickly and find effective solutions to restore system performance.
  • Attention to Detail and Safety Compliance: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to safety. You understand the risks involved in solar installations and adhere to safety protocols to ensure safe operations.
  • Customer Service and Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate clients on system operation and provide clear answers to questions. You can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
