Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in Havering, London's Eastern-most borough.
This permanent role involves leading on our Mainstream School and Speech Sound Disorders pathways for 4 days a week. Depending on service need, there may also be sessions in other clinical areas.
You will work closely with Education and Local Authority staff, engaging in multidisciplinary team working with colleagues from Paediatrics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Health Visiting, School nursing, CAMHS, and Safeguarding.
As a Band 7 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide specialist assessments and interventions for children with diverse speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs. You will develop and deliver evidence-based intervention programmes, adapting therapy according to client-centred needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working autonomously as a highly specialist speech and language therapist to provide specialist assessments and interventions for children with diverse needs.
- Developing and delivering evidence-based intervention programmes tailored to individual client needs.
- Providing highly specialist knowledge, advice, training, and teaching to parents/carers, education staff, multidisciplinary team members, and other colleagues.
- Supporting the leadership and management of the wider team by delivering supervision, covering meetings, and contributing to service development.
- Attending relevant training courses, meetings, and Clinical Excellence Networks (CENs) related to your specialism.
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
- An HCPC Licence to Practice.
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in line with RCSLT guidelines.
