Secondary School Teaching Assistant Position:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Wigan. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children aged 11-16 with personal care needs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position requiring someone who can start immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing dedicated support to a young female student with wheelchair requirements, enabling her to fully engage with her education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance as required
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum and participating in class activities
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized learning plans
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with parents/carers

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • DBS clearance or willingness to undergo checks
