About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Expert to join our team at ICDS (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading electrical commissioning activities on site.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and/or trade experience, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a site-based MEP role, specifically working on hyperscale data centers. They will possess excellent IT skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure electrical activities are completed in a safe manner, prioritizing the Health and Safety of all stakeholders.
  • Lead by example and educate stakeholders on Company-specific Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Be aware of hazardous energies and implement site-specific management strategies (Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of project electrical systems and equipment, tracking installation to ensure compliance with specification and program needs.
  • Understand project-specific commissioning requirements and assist in developing Commissioning Implementation Plans (CIPs).
  • Perform site quality inspections to ensure Electrical & CSA works conform to relevant requirements.
  • Coordinate that rooms and areas meet relevant CSA and MEP Quality standards and requirements for advanced Beneficial Use.
  • Provide stakeholders with necessary information to progress systems installation, ensuring works align with the master construction program.
  • Ensure contractors and vendors are adequately resourced to complete works successfully.
  • Review the master construction schedule to identify opportunities for sequencing and prioritize work faces in terms of electrical and CSA scope.
  • Review the site construction power system (Temporary Power) to ensure it meets ongoing and commissioning requirements.
  • Chair and input into onsite and offsite meetings with relevant project stakeholders.
  • Issue weekly progress and costs reports.
  • Manage sub-contractor activities, including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels.
  • Review and ensure system electrical stakeholders produce required items, including Construction and Commissioning Programs, Works execution documents, Equipment Bills of Materials, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Building Services / Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent trade experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a site-based MEP role, specifically working on hyperscale data centers.
  • Excellent IT skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a high-performance team.
