Job Title: Plumbing Engineer

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer to join their team at HMP Parc, a Category B men's private prison in Bridgend, Mid-Glamorgan, Wales.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs, planned and preventative maintenance, and installation of various systems and equipment. They will work closely with the facilities team to ensure the smooth operation of the prison's mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out fault-finding and repair of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and plumbing.
  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections to ensure the integrity of systems and equipment.
  • Install and commission new systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the facilities team to resolve maintenance issues and improve system efficiency.
  • Record and log all work activities, including maintenance schedules and repair records.
Requirements:
  • City and Guilds Plumbing Craft Qualification or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in plumbing and heating.
  • Desirable qualifications in heating and ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
  • Strong team working skills, attention to detail, and security awareness.
