Job Overview

Themis Recruit is pleased to collaborate with a leading global aerospace practice to find an experienced lawyer to join their market-leading aviation finance team.

The client boasts an extensive range of clients across all areas of the aerospace industry, with one of the largest teams in any international law firm.

The Aviation Finance team provides expert guidance to prominent aviation financiers, lessors, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies, insurers, airlines, and various aircraft operators on all facets of aircraft and engine trading, leasing, and financing transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in financing transactions involving aircraft and engine trading, leasing, and financing.
  • Advise clients on the legal aspects of aircraft and engine transactions, including lease financing and sale and leaseback.
  • Assist clients in the sale and purchase of aircraft portfolios and facilitate complex transactions involving multiple parties.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver high-quality client service and business development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders in the aviation finance sector.
Requirements
  • An excellent academic record, with a degree classification of 2:1 or higher (or equivalent).
  • Approximately 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in aviation finance or relevant asset finance from a reputable commercial practice.
  • A strong interest in building a profile within the aviation sector, particularly in aviation finance and leasing.
  • Familiarity with common aviation financing structures and considerations related to aircraft sale, purchase, and leasing is preferred.
  • Proven ability to take on significant responsibility for transactions, comfortable in client-facing roles, and proactive and organized, even across international time zones.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with partners who have varying working styles.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent transaction management skills, capable of managing multiple correspondence strands.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Strong client engagement and business development skills appropriate to your PQE.
  • Active involvement in practice and business development initiatives is expected.
  • International travel may be required.
