Job Title: Specialist ASC Provision Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and confident Teaching Assistant to join our high-needs provision in a primary school. The successful candidate will provide targeted support to a small group of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support strategies such as Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS to promote communication and engagement.
  • Work alongside the class team to deliver adapted lessons, activities, and interventions to meet the individual learning needs of each pupil.
  • Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment to support both the academic and emotional development of the pupils.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive atmosphere that promotes the pupils' independence, confidence, and overall well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils who have ASC and complex needs, particularly within a primary school environment.
  • Confidence in using a variety of strategies, including Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS.
  • Patient, empathetic, and positive attitude toward supporting children with SEND.
  • Genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with SEND.
